MARSHALL - Mass of Christian Burial for Marcella Wintheiser, 94, of Marshall, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with a 4 p.m. CCW Rosary and a 7 p.m. prayer service at Rehkamp-Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Marshall.
Marcella died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at the Minneota Manor Health Care Center.
Marcella Mary Wintheiser was born March 14, 1915, in Morgan, to Adam and Anna (Koll) Schouviller. Her family moved to Mahnomen until the age of 16 when she moved back to Morgan. On Nov. 20, 1940, Marcella was united in marriage to Leo Wintheiser at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan. The couple farmed in the Morgan area until moving to Marshall in 1970. Leo and Marcella both grew up in large families and Marcella enjoyed spending time with her family, was well known for her cooking, and was active in her church.
Survivors include her son Ralph (and Georgia) of Gresham, Ore.; granddaughters Victoria of Portland, Ore., and Anita Larson of Anoka; son-in-law Rick (and Gail) Larson of Anoka; and sisters Dorothy Walz of Mahnomen and Della Steffl of Larimore, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo, daughter Linda and an infant child.
