Reiff, Diedrich honored by NSIC
Southwest Minnesota State University sophomore safety Levi Reiff was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday for his performance in the Mustangs' victory at Northern State Saturday.
Reiff recorded a game-high nine tackles to go along with an interception return for 71 yards that set up a Mustang touchdown in SMSU's 34-10 win.
Reiff leads SMSU with 74 tackles, including 42 solo stops. He also has four pass break ups, two interceptions and one fumble recovery.
Reiff is the first Mustang player to earn a conference player of the week award this season.

SMSU's Devin Diedrich was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Diedrich, a sophomore middle blocker, recorded 30 kills in a pair of matches this past weekend to help improve the No. 16 Mustangs to a 21-7 overall and 11-5 NSIC.
Diedrich earned 16 kills in the sweep against No. 11 University of Minnesota, Duluth and 14 kills and five blocks against Bemidji State. The sophomore had a solid .379 hitting performance in addition to adding three ace serves, 12 digs and six blocks.
The honor marks the second time this season that Diedrich, a native of Braham, has been named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week.
SMSU continues action at 3 p.m. Saturday when it hosts No. 14 Minnesota State, Mankato.
