The Wabasso football team took advantage of playing in front of a home crowd as the Rabbits crushed Fulda 45-27 in Tuesday night in Wabasso to open the Section 3A playoffs.

Derek Riley couldn't be stopped on the ground as he rushed for 287 yards and five touchdowns, while also catching two passes for 33 yards and a TD.

Riley helped give the No. 3 seeded Rabbits a 20-0 lead after scoring from 18 yards and 46 yards - both rushes - and catching a 19-yard pass from Jacob Rohlik to round out the first quarter scoring.

Fulda responded with a touchdown in the second quarter but Riley found the end zone twice more in the third quarter and Rohlik connected with Jason Plaetz on a 35-yard pass for his second touchdown pass of the game.

Cody Welch led the defense with 11 tackles and Jon Knott followed with eight. Joby Sandau and Darin Brand each had fumble recoveries.
