TYLER - Services for Barbara J. Swanson, 70, of Tyler, will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Danebod Lutheran Church in Tyler. Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday prior to services. Burial will be in Danebod Cemetery at a later date. Hartquist Funeral Home, Utoft-Johansen Chapel in Tyler is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a hospice program of donor's choice.
She died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, S.D.
She was born Nov. 19, 1938, to Herbert and Mary Hamilton in Gary, Ind.
Survivors include her husband, Howard; daughter, Cindy Shaykett of Lake Mills, Iowa; stepson, Dale Swanson of Tyler; stepdaughter, Katherine O'Connell of Sullivan Lake, Wash.; one step-granddaughter; sisters, Mary Schneider of Trego, Wis., and Jeanne Swanson of Vernon Hills, Ill., and brother, Clyde Hamilton of Libertyville, Ill.
