Eileen Hoflock

VESTA - Mass of Christian Burial for Eileen Hoflock, 84, of Vesta, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Milroy. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at St. Clotilde Catholic Cemetery in Green Valley.
She died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at the Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.
Eileen Georgina (Grewing) Hoflock was born Dec. 19, 1924, in Redwood County to Albert and Elza (Thiel) Grewing. She grew up in rural Vesta. On Feb. 4, 1948, Eileen was united in marriage to Gerard Hoflock. The couple farmed near Marshall for a few years before settling in rural Vesta. Eileen ran the cafe in Vesta for a few years in the early 1970s. She resided in Vesta until moving to River Hills assisted living in Cambridge and later the Morningside Heights Nursing Home in Marshall. Eileen enjoyed outdoor work including gardening and lawn care. She also enjoyed camping and fishing, doing puzzles and picking up pop cans with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Tom (and Kelly) Hoflock of Vesta, Pat Meyer of St. Francis, Cathy (and Dan) Beebout of Milroy, Alan and (Carol) Hoflock of Sarasota, Fla., 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Annie Marcotte of Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerard and two brothers.
