MARSHALL - Judy Marie Henderson, 29, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court June 23 on a charge of simulated controlled substance crime. Henderson sold 70 pills she said were ecstasy for $1,100 on July 30 in Marshall, the complaint alleges. Henderson waived her court time line. A hearing was set for July 7. Henderson's lawyer Cecil Naatz and Lyon County Attorney Rick Maes filed papers.
MARSHALL - Darren Ross Serreyn, 20, of Lynd appeared in Lyon County District Court June 23 on a charge of controlled substance crime in the fifth degree-liability for crimes of another. Serreyn and an accomplice sold a half ounce of marijuana for $200 on Nov. 12 in Marshall, the complaint alleges. Lyon County Attorney Rick Maes and Serreyn's lawyer Cecil Naatz filed papers. Serreyn waived his court time line. A hearing was set for Aug. 4.
MARSHALL - Denis Michael Czech, 27, of Sauk Rapids appeared in Lyon County District Court June 23 on a charge of issuance of a dishonored check. Czech wrote a check for about $2,600 to a Marshall business on April 8 and did not have the funds to cover the check, the complaint alleges. Czech's lawyer Joel Solie and Lyon County Assistant Attorney Tricia Zimmer filed papers. An omnibus hearing was set for July 21.
MARSHALL - Robert Lance Horner, 44, of Tracy appeared in Lyon County District Court June 22 on charges of perjury and theft by wrongfully obtaining assistance. Horner failed to report household income and wrongfully received about $1,300 in payments from November 2006 to November 2008, the complaint alleges. A warrant had been issued for Horner and the warrant was quashed by the court. A Rule 5 hearing was to be set in 90 days.
MARSHALL - Oscar Antonio Fuentez Martinez, 24, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court June 22 in a sentencing hearing in an assault in the third degree charge. Martinez was sentenced to one year and one day in prison. He must pay restitution and follow other conditions.
MARSHALL - Robert Charles Soupir, 59, of Milroy appeared in Lyon County District Court June 22 on charges of driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety, no insurance and fourth degree driving after cancelation. Soupir drove under the influence of alcohol, with a canceled driver's license and without vehicle insurance on June 20 in Lyon County, the complaint alleges. Cecil Naatz was appointed Soupir's lawyer. Bail without conditions was set at $6,000. Soupir can also be released on no bail on the conditions he reappear in court, be of good behavior, obey all laws and others.
MARSHALL - Fernando Dela Cruz, 51, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court June 22 on charges of driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety and no fault insurance and two counts of fourth degree driving while impaired. Dela Cruz drove under the influence of alcohol, without no fault insurance and with a canceled driver's license on June 20 in Lyon County, the complaint alleges. Bail without conditions was set at $6,000. Dela Cruz can be released without bail on conditions including do not enter bars or liquor stores, reappear in court and obey all laws.
MARSHALL - Michael Dean Giese, 54, of Tracy appeared in Lyon County District Court June 22 on a charge of interference with an emergency call and two counts of domestic assault. Giese prevented a victim from calling 911 and hit the victim in Lyon County, the complaint alleges. An omnibus hearing was set for June 14.
