Courts for June 30
MARSHALL - Bradley James Hutto, 25, of Lake Charles, La., appeared in Lyon County District Court June 17 on a charge of assault in the fourth degree-liability for crimes of another. Hutto and an accomplice assaulted a victim because of the victim's race on June 15 in Marshall, the complaint alleges. The court said a warrant had been filed for Hutto in Louisiana. Hutto did not qualify for a public defender. A hearing was set for June 30. Bail with no conditions was set at $15,000 and bail of $10,000 with conditions including be of good behavior, obey all laws and do not enter bars or liquor stores.
MARSHALL - Joseph Gerald Hoffman, 36, of Marshall admitted in Lyon County District Court June 16 violating his probation. Hoffman failed to report for drug testing, court records said. Hoffman was to continue a three-week testing period and complete the remainder of his sentence.
MARSHALL - Sie Leslie Merriman, 29, of Fredericktown, Mo., appeared in Lyon County District Court on a charge of assault in the fourth degree-liability for crimes of another. Merriman and an accomplice assaulted a victim because of the victim's race on June 15 in Marshall, the complaint alleges. Merriman said he did not want to challenge extradition to Missouri, the court minutes said. Bail was set at $18,000 with no conditions and at $15,000 on conditions including abstain from alcohol and drugs, reappear in court and be of good behavior. A hearing was set for June 30.
