Ivers hits walk-off in 9th to lead Irish to 1-0 win

Milroy Irish's Paul Ivers delivered a walk-off hit in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Irish to a 1-0 win over Heron Lake Saturday at Alumni Field in Marshall.

Andy Ogdahl pitched a complete-game shutout and carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning. Ogdahl finished with nine strikeouts and three walks.

Aaron Ogdahl led the Irish from the plate going 2-for-4 with a stolen base.

The Irish, however, were defeated in their second game of the weekend against Windom 8-5.

Ivers suffered the loss after going 4.2 innings striking out two and walking four.

Clay Ellis went 3-for-3 with three RBI for the Irish, while Andy Ogdahl went 2-for-3 and John Gervais was 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

The Irish (2-9) will play a doubleheader Saturday at noon and 5 p.m. against Spencer, Iowa and Wilmont, both games to be played at Alumni Field in Marshall.

Lamberton 6, Redwood Falls 0

The Lamberton Long Sox opened up in the fifth inning for four runs to go on to defeat Redwood Falls 6-0 Sunday in Lamberton.

Colby Pack started on the mound for the Long Sox and struck out six while allowing just four hits and one walk. Jake Wahl came in for relief in the seventh and closed out the game.

Donald Strand went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while Tyler Reiner went 2-for-4 with a RBI and a double and Pack helped out his own cause with two RBI.

Lamberton is now 13-4-1 and 10-3 in the Tomahawk League.

Milroy Yankees 6, New Ulm 4 Milroy Yankees 10, Raymond 4

The Milroy Yankees went 2-0 over the weekend with wins over New Ulm and Raymond.

The Yankees held on to win against New Ulm 6-4 on Saturday after allowing three runs in the bottom of the ninth.

Andy Williamson drove in three runs for Milroy, while Christopher Eichten went 3-for-4 with two runs and a walk. Matt Bauer went 2-for-5 with a RBI and a walk.

Anthony Rohlik earned the win after pitching eight innings allowing just one run. Williamson came in and earned the save.

In Sunday's game with Raymond, Bauer hit a grand slam in the first inning and a two-run triple in the fifth to help lead the Yankees to a convincing 10-4 win in Milroy. Bauer finished 3-for-5 with six RBI including a triple and a home run.

Nathan Deutz went the whole game, striking out seven and allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks.
