Madsen pitches Tyler to 6-1 victory

Philip Madsen allowed just one unearned run on two hits in a complete game effort from the mound to help lead the Tyler legion baseball team to a 6-1 win over Granite Falls Friday night in Tyler.

Jason Minett went 3-for-3 with a RBI for Tyler, while Madsen went 2-for-3 with a RBI. Shay Wabeke also went 3-for-3 and Preston Wabeke went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Devan Dyrdahl also went the distance on the mound but was tagged with the loss after allowing six runs on 10 hits.

The only two hits for Granite Falls came off the bat of Garrett Cole as he finished 2-for-3.

Tyler is now 4-5 on the season and will continue play Monday against Adrian.

Tracy 2, Marshall Blue 1

The Tracy VFW took down the Marshall VFW in a pitchers duel in Tracy on Friday night 2-1.

Zach Campbell went the distance to pick up the win on the mound. Campbell tossed seven innings allowing one run on five hits with five strike outs.

Tyler Alcorn took the loss throwing all six innings, he allowed two runs on seven hits with three walks and six strike outs.

Jeremy Hoflock led the way at the plate going 3-for-3 with two doubles for Tracy. Gary Carter was 2-for-2 with a double, Zach Campbell was 1-for-3 with a double and Dominic Dolan was 1-for-3.

Nate Ellis led the way for Marshall going 1-for-3 with a RBI double. Also getting hits for Marshall were Ben Sanders, Riley Carpenter, Mike Danahar and Tyler Alcorn.

Tracy improves to 9-2 and will be back in action today when they travel to Fulda.

Milroy Yankees 9, Starbuck 1

The Milroy Yankees took down Starbuck quick handedly on Friday night in Milroy, the Yankees scored in all but one inning to win 9-1.

Dave Schmidt picked up the win on the mound going seven plus innings for the Yankees, he allowed one run on five hits with six strike outs.

Justin Schlemmer led the way at the plate going 3-for-4 with one RBI. Andy Schmidt was 3-for-5 with one RBI and Eric Dolan was 2-for-5.

Milroy improves to 10-1 in the Cornbelt and 15-3 on the season. The yankees will be back in action tonight when they travel to New Ulm for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Marshall Orange 15, Gary (S.D.) 4

The Marshall VFW Orange team was in a groove offensively Friday and downed Gary (S.D.) 15-4 for the second win of the season.

Andrew Buysse went 4-for-4 with a double and score a run for Marshall. Chris Walker 2-for-4 with two runs and Anthony Blumme went 3-for-4 with a run score.

Marshall is now 2-7 on the season and will continue play on the road Monday in Fulda.
