LongSox remain perfect with 3-0

The Lamberton LongSox moved to 4-0 on the season with a 3-0 win over Jackson in amateur baseball action in Lamberton Wednesday.

LongSox hurler Tyler Reiner picked up the win on the mound, striking out eight batters in six innings of work. Mike Samyn got the save.

Lamberton earned five hits in the game. Colby Pack blasted a solo home run in the fifth inning.

For Jackson, Tom Hady took the loss on the mound. As a team, Jackson came up with three hits.

The LongSox continue action next when they travel to play Redwood Falls Sunday.

Milroy 5, Granite Falls 1

The Milroy Yankees improved to a perfect 2-0 after taking down the Granite Falls Kilowatts 5-1 on Wednesday night in Milroy.

Nathan Deutz picked up the win going seven innings allowing no runs on two hits. Anthony Rohlik entered in relief in the eighth inning and allowed one run on two hits.

Andy Schmidt and Justin Schlemmer each had doubles for Milroy. Andy Schmidt led the way at the plate going 3-for-4.

Milroy improves to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the Cornbelt South. The Yankees will be back in action today against Brookings in Milroy at 7:30 p.m.
