MARSHALL - Robert William DeCrock, 29, of Minneota pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court April 28 to a charge of third degree driving while impaired. DeCrock drove with an alcohol concentration of .29 on March 17 in Lyon County, court records said. DeCrock was sentenced to one year in jail with 320 days stayed and placed on up to two years of supervised probation. DeCrock must serve 45 days in jail, pay a $600 fine, have a chemical use assessment and follow other conditions. Two related charges were dismissed.
MARSHALL - Ignacio Zuniga, 43, of Hanley Falls appeared in Lyon County District Court Wednesday on two counts of third degree driving while impaired and a charge of over the center line. Zuniga drove over the center line on the road and drove with an alcohol concentration of .20 on Jan. 25 in Lyon County, the complaint alleges. Stephen Ferrazzano was appointed Zuniga's lawyer. A Rule 8 hearing was set for May 12. Bail with no conditions was set at $6,000. Zuniga can also be released with no bail on conditions including reappear, be of good behavior and submit to random testing.
MARSHALL - Sylvia Patlan, 52, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court Wednesday on charges of theft by wrongfully obtaining assistance and perjury. Patlan falsely completed welfare forms and did not report her husband's household income and received an overpayment of about $5,900 in February and March of 2007 and some months in 2006, the complaint alleges. Stephen Ferrazzano was appointed Patlan's lawyer. Patlan was released on the conditions she reappear in court and others.
MARSHALL - Maria Isabelle Bales, of Marshall, formerly Tyler, appeared in Lyon County District Court April 28 on two warrants in probation violation allegations in files. Bales had been ordered in court April 13 to abstain from drugs and alcohol but has been tested positive for drugs and alcohol, the court said. Bales must be held until a May 4 hearing. Bales violated probation by failing to abstain from drugs and alcohol and failing to complete her Sentence to Serve, probation alleges.
