Benedictine College announces dean's lists

ATCHISON, Kan. - Benedictine College has recognized those students who have distinguished themselves academically during the last semester. Vincent Henningsgaard of Canby was recently named to the dean's list for the fall semester, which ended Dec. 15.

Maas on U of M, Morris dean's list

MORRIS - Jonna Maas of Walnut Grove has been named to the dean's list at the Morris campus of the University of Minnesota.

MSUM announces area winter graduates

MOORHEAD - Four hundred sixty-nine students received degrees at Minnesota State University Moorhead's winter graduation ceremony Dec. 19, 2008. The following area students were among the graduates: Cottonwood - Cody Doom, bachelor of science in construction management; Allisa Hoehne, bachelor of arts in criminal justice; Katie Kremin, bachelor of science in special education. Dawson - Stephanie Plate, bachelor of science in elementary education, cum laude. Ghent - Laura DeSutter, bachelor of science in mass communications, cum laude. Granite Falls - Carissa Walters, bachelor of science in finance, magna cum laude. Marshall - Nicola Nordstrom, bachelor of science in mass communications.

Zachow participates in BSU wind ensemble

The Bemidji State University Wind Ensemble is a comprised of 35 students, both music majors and non-music majors. The group traveled to Winnipeg on Nov. 12 and performed six times a five schools in the city. They also attended a jazz concert at the University of Manitoba featuring New York saxophonist Steve Wilson. Among the students was Drew Zachow of Cottonwood, freshman, criminal justice.

Walker tours with Concordia College orchestra

Melanie Walker, a sophomore at Concordia College in Moorhead, is touring with The Concordian Orchestra from Feb. 10-15. Walker is the daughter of Loretta and Matthew Walker of Marshall. The Concordia Orchestra's tour concludes with a home concert Feb. 15.
