LAKE BENTON - Services for Richard Crooks, 69, of Pipestone, formerly of Perham, will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Hartquist Funeral Home, Utoft-Johansen Chapel in Lake Benton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Memorial Hill Cemetery in Lake Benton.
He died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at his home in Pipestone.
He was born Sept. 15, 1939, to Nathan and Myrtle (Maranell) Crooks in Harris County, Iowa.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1958. He was stationed in Thule, Greenland and served as an electrician. While in the Air Force He was honorably discharged in 1962 and moved to Santa Maria, California.
Survivors include his sons, Jeffrey Crooks of Sutter, Calif., and Russell Crooks of Vacaville, Calif.; two brothers: Everett of Rapid City, S.D., and Donald of Astoria, S.D.; two sisters: Marjorie Showalter of Hutchinson and Mariam Wolf of Spokane Wash.; two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
