Region gearing up for Veteran's Day Programs

Area communities will be observing Veterans' Day next week with community programs and other events. Wood Lake will be hosting a Veterans' Day dinner this Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Wood Lake Community Center. Other programs, listed below, are on Tuesday,

Balaton: Program starts at 10 a.m. in the Balaton School gymnasium.

Canby: Program starts at 10 a.m. in the Canby Public School gymnasium. The program will include speakers, music and readings of Canby student essays.

Clarkfield: Program starts at 8 a.m. at Clarkfield Area Charter School.

Cottonwood: Program starts at 8:40 a.m. in the main gymnasium at Lakeview School in Cottonwood.

Granite Falls: Program starts at 11 a.m. at the Yellow Medicine East gymnasium in Granite Falls.

Hendricks: Program starts at 9 a.m. at Lincoln HI Elementary.

Ivanhoe: Program starts at 2 p.m. at Lincoln HI High School.

Lake Benton: Program starts at 2 p.m. at the Lake Benton Opera House.

Marshall: Program starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Adult Community Center in Marshall; doors open at 10. Following the program, a free luncheon will be served at the American Legion in Marshall. A free dinner for veterans and their spouses will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the American Legion.

Milroy: Program starts at 10 a.m. at Milroy School. The program will feature local American Legion and VFW members.

Minneota: Program starts at 10 a.m. at the Minneota School gymnasium. The program will feature guest speakers and music.

Redwood Falls: Program starts at 1:30 p.m. at Redwood Valley High School in Redwood Falls.

Russell: Program starts at 9:30 a.m. at RTR Middle School.

Tracy: Program begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Tracy High School gymnasium. Keynote speaker will be Merlin Ellefson, mayor of Dawson and American Legion department vice commander.

Tyler: Program starts at 2 p.m. at the RTR High School gymnasium.

Wabasso: Program starts at 10 a.m. at the Wabasso School gymnasium.

Walnut Grove: Program starts at 2 p.m. at the Walnut Grove school. Keynote speaker will be Roy Williams.

Westbrook: Program starts at 10 a.m. at the Westbrook school. Keynote speaker will be Roy Williams.
