Deborah Arends Mead
July 1, 1954-Oct. 28, 2008WATERTOWN, S.D. - Mass of Christian Burial for Deborah Arends Mead, 54, of Watertown, S.D., formerly of Minneota, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Visitation will be from 48 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at RehkampHorvath Funeral Home in Minneota and from 8:3010:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Minneota.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, S.D., after a lengthy illness.
Deborah Rae (Arends) Mead was born July 1, 1954, in Marshall to Francis and Delores (Ertz) Arends. She grew up and attended school in Minneota. Deborah raised her family in a variety of communities. For the last eight years, she was living in Watertown, S.D. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word search games, fishing, bowling, and playing bingo. Deb was most passionate about spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Survivors include her children Angela, Jessica and Damon of Watertown, S.D.; grandchildren Brittany, Arianna and Trystan; parents Francis and Delores Arends of Minneota; siblings Paul (and Joyce), Laura (and Richard) Mead, Gregory, James (and Mari), Patricia (and Dan) Vierstraete, Brenda (and Duane) Schmitz, Jeffrey (and Jane) and Jean; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Lisa.
