Lakeview stymies Rabbits, 3-1

COTTONWOOD - Lakeview outlasted Wabasso 3-1 in a nonconference volleyball match Monday night.

The Lakers, who are ranked No. 10 in the latest Class 1A state coaches poll, improved to 16-2-2 with the 25-22, 25-18, 16-25 and 25-17 win.

For the Lakers, Dana Boerboom had 18 kills and three blocks, Chelsey Gniffke had 35 set assists, two aces, seven digs and two blocks, Camille Doom had nine kills and Shelby Bahn had two aces and seven digs.

No statistics were available for Wabasso (10-8-2).

PIPESTONE - The Class A No. 3-ranked Minneota High volleyball team went five games to beat Pipestone Area Monday night.

The Vikings (17-4) won 21-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-16 and 15-6.

For Minneota, Leah Fadness had 11 kills and 21 digs, Sam Hennen had 11 kills, six blocks and six digs, Jenna Hennen had five aces, eight kills and 16 digs, Taya Kockelman had 39 set assists, four kills, two blocks and 18 digs and Ashlynn Muhl had 12 kills, two blocks and five digs.

HBC won 27-25, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-21.

For the Rebels, Megan Evert had 10 kills, two blocks and six digs, Laura Leibfried had 11 digs, Alicia Moen had five aces, four kills and six digs, Bridgette Bloch had three aces and four assists and Amanda Steffes had seven assists. Brittany VanOverbeke chipped in seven kills and eight digs.
