MARSHALL - David Lee Norman, 23, of Minneota pleaded innocent in Lyon County District Court July 10 to charges of interference with an emergency call, criminal damage to property in the fourth degree and careless driving and two counts of domestic assault. Norman smashed a broom stick, cut a phone cord, punched a victim and chased a victim and struck a squad car with his car on June 19 in Minneota, the complaint alleges. An omnibus hearing was to be set. Norman was released on prior conditions.
MARSHALL - Dimitrius Anthony Jones, 19, of Marshall admitted in Lyon County District Court Friday violating his probation. Jones violated his probation by failing to abstain from alcohol, failing to abide by a chemical use assessment and failing to pay what he owes, court records said. Jones was reinstated on probation on prior conditions. Jone must serve 90 days in jail.
MARSHALL - Claudia Noemi del cid Flores, 26, of Marshall pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Friday to a charge of aggravated forgery. Flores used the identity of another to obtain employment in May, court records said. Flores received a stay of imposition on a sentence and was placed on supervised probation for up to five years. Flores must serve 60 days in jail, pay a $500 fine and follow other conditions. If Flores is deported she must report to probation if she enters the U.S. legally or illegally.
MARSHALL - Philip D. Sovell, 23, of Marshall admitted in Lyon County District Court Friday violating his probation. Sovell violated his probation by failing to abstain from illegal drugs, court records said. Sovell was sentenced to 18 months in prison with credit for 301 days. Sovell's unpaid fines were waived.
MARSHALL - Herbert Raymond Howell, Jr., 23, of Granite Falls admitted in Lyon County District Court July 11 violating his probation. Howell violated his probation by failing to abstain from alcohol, court records said. The court executed a stayed sentence for Howell. Howell's unpaid money will be submitted to revenue recapture.
