MINNEAPOLIS — Services for Kathleen Karol Bruss, 70, of Minneapolis are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Church Lutheran, 3244 34th Ave. So., Minneapolis. Burial is in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bradshaw (McDivitt-Hauge), 3131 Minnehaha Ave. S., Mpls. and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials preferred to Christ Church Lutheran Endowment Fund or Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
She died Friday, May 16, 2008, at her home after a brief battle with a cancerous brain tumor.
Kathleen was born to Arnold and Genevieve Buesing. She was born and raised in the rural Russell area, attended school in Russell and Lynd and graduated from Marshall High School in 1955. After high school she worked as a secretary to Principal Merril Olson at Marshall High School for two years. She and Gene Bruss were married in 1960 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshall. After getting married they moved to Minneapolis.
Survivors include her husband of almost 48 years, Gene; daughters, Sara (and Mike) Corcoran and Anne (and Dan) Nelson; grandchildren, Erin Corcoran, Megan and Ryan Nelson; brothers, Michael (and Sandy) Buesing and Jeffrey (and Mary Jo) Buesing; sister-in-law, Monna Buesing; sister-in-law, Sherron Quiring; and many other family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Genevieve Buesing, brother, Arnold Buesing, Jr., nephew, Paul Buesing, infant nephew, Val Buesing, brother-in-law, Del Quiring and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Viola Bruss.
