MARSHALL — Larry Allen Boe, 30, of Lynd appeared in custody in Lyon County District Court Monday on charges of first degree driving while impaired with the aggravating factor of prior DWIs in 2000 and 2003, driving after cancelation-inimical to public safety, open bottle, stop sign violation and failure to drive within the lane. Boe drove while impaired with alcohol, did not stop at a stop sign, crossed the fog line and center line, had an open bottle of alcohol in the vehicle and drove with a canceled driver’s license, the complaint alleges. Boe said he may hire Bob Gjorvad as his lawyer. Bail was set at $6,000 with conditions of use no alcohol, do not enter bars or liquor stores and others. A Rule 8 hearing was set for May 19.

MARSHALL — Rodney Allen Fricke, 31, of Cottonwood appeared in Lyon County District Court Monday on a charge of theft. Fricke made fictitious voids while working as a cashier and stole about $5,000 from September through November, the complaint alleges. Cecil Naatz was appointed Fricke’s lawyer. Fricke was released on no bail on conditions he reappear in court, have no contact with his former employer and other conditions. A hearing was set for May 19.

MARSHALL — Scott Allen Hartson, 26, of Tracy appeared by phone in Lyon County District Court Friday on charges of theft by wrongfully obtaining assistant and perjury. Hartson falsified welfare documents when he said his children were living with him and wrongfully received about $11,200 in welfare aid from July 2005 to January 2007, the complaint alleges. Hartson was released on the conditions he maintain contact with his lawyer, obey laws and others.

MARSHALL — Steven Ray Lawrence Clark, 21, of Garvin pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Friday to a charge of driving after cancelation-inimical to public safety. Clark drove with a canceled driver’s license on March 21 in Marshall, court records said. Clark was sentenced to one year in jail with 355 days stayed. Clark was placed on supervised probation for up to two years. Clark must serve 10 days in jail, pay $782 in a fine, fee and surcharge and follow other conditions.

MARSHALL — Lazette Maria Etheredge, 39, of Marshall appeared in custody Lyon County District Court Monday on charges of assault in the third degree and domestic assault. Etheredge hit a victim on the head and stitches were needed on April 20 in Marshall, the complaint alleges. A hearing was set for May 20. Etheredge was released on conditions she maintain contact with her lawyer and others.

MARSHALL — Jessica Walters, 26, of Balaton appeared in custody in Lyon County District Court Monday on charges of second degree driving while impaired-refusal to test and second degree DWI with the aggravating factors of prior DWIs in 2005 and 2006 and a charge of stop or stand in street. Walters stopped in the road, and drove while impaired with alcohol and refused an alcohol test on May 2 in Lyon County, the complaint alleges. Cecil Naatz was appointed Walters’ lawyer. Bail was set at $1,000. If posted, Walters will be released on conditions she abstain from alcohol, does not enter bars or liquor stores and others. A Rule 8 hearing was set for May 19.

MARSHALL — Jesse Lee Strom, 31, of Lyon County pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Monday to two counts of domestic assault with the aggravating factor of a prior domestic assault conviction in January. Strom grabbed a victim by the neck and pushed the victim into a wall on Jan. 28 in Garvin, court records said. Strom threatened to beat a second victim on Feb. 2 in Garvin, court records said. The court had found Strom competent to stand trial. Strom was sentenced to one year in jail on both counts with 230 days stayed on each. Strom was placed on supervised probation for up to two years. Strom must serve 135 days in jail on both counts, pay a $250 fine, have a chemical use assessment and follow other conditions.

MARSHALL — Elijah Michael Odom, 27, of Balaton appeared in custody in Lyon County District Court Monday on charges of second degree driving while impaired-refusal to test and second degree DWI, both with the aggravating factor a prior DWI in 2000 and prior test refusal in 200 and charges of driving after cancelation-inimical to public safety and speeding. Strom drove while impaired with alcohol, refused an alcohol test and drove 60 mph in a residential area on May 3 in Balaton, the complaint alleges. Stephen Ferrazzano was appointed Odom’s lawyer. Bail was set at $3,000 with conditions of no use of alcohol or drugs, do not enter bars or liquor stores, reappear in court and others.

MARSHALL — Megan Vazquez, 29, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court Monday on charges of theft by wrongfully obtaining assistance and perjury. Vazquez failed to report household income on welfare documents and wrongfully received about $1,000 in overpayment in November and December, the complaint alleges. A plea hearing was set for June 1. Vazquez was released on conditions, including stay in contact with her lawyer.

MARSHALL — Shirwa Mohamed Nur, 25, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court Tuesday on charges first degree driving while impaired and first degree DWI-refusal to test with the aggravating factors of prior DWIs in 2004, 2005 and 2006 and a charge of driving after cancelation inimical to public safety. Nur drove while impaired with alcohol and with a canceled driver’s license on April 20 in Marshall, the complaint alleges. Nur’s lawyer, Joel Solie, and Lyon County Attorney Rick Maes filed papers. An omnibus hearing was set for May 23.

MARSHALL — Martha Ann Hartson, 24, of Tracy pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Tuesday to a charge of theft by wrongfully obtaining assistance. Hartson falsely reported her children were living with her and received an overpayment in assistance of $1,296,27 from July 2005 to January 2007, court records said.

My facts are quite straight, thank you. This case has nothing to do with him being a sex offender, but he is, in fact, an offender. I think it is terrible that someone in his position is able to receive funds from the state. That is my point. Are you condoning his actions??

sounds like personal gruges against someone cuz i read nothing about a sex offender and if it is the situation i think it is get ur facts straight.

I agree Mr. McNeil. People who are convicted of crimes against children should not be allowed to be on the public assistance programs. Welfare is supposed to be for hard-working families who fall on hard times, not felons who hurt our children. He better pack light, and thats all I have to say about that.

How nice to see that not only can convicted child sex offenders receive MY tax money, but they can be overpaid by 11,200! Things need to change. Talk to your local congress person. Child sex offenders have NO reason to even be alive. He should kill himself and his stupid wife for marrying him!!
