MARSHALL — Gabriel Joseph Ross, 20, of Granite Falls was sentenced in Lyon County District Court May 1 on a charge of assault in the second degree. Ross was sentenced to prison for 21 months and must pay a $100 fine and restitution.
MARSHALL — Adam Kibet Ronoh, 29, of Brooklyn Park admitted in Lyon County District Court Friday violating his probation. Ronoh violated his probation by failing to complete his Sentence to Serve and failing to pay his fine, fee and surcharge, court records said. Ronoh was reinstated on probation on prior conditions and a new payment schedule.
MARSHALL — Robert Flores Hernandez, 19, of Marshall admitted in Lyon County District Court Friday violating his probation. Hernandez violated his probation by failing to abstain from alcohol and failing to submit to random testing, court records said. Hernandez was reinstated on probation on prior conditions. Hernandez must also serve 15 days in jail and update his chemical use assessment.
MARSHALL — Bobbi Jo Cote, 26, of Slayton appeared in Lyon County District Court Friday in a probation violation hearing. Cote violated her probation by failing to complete aftercare and failing to abstain, probation alleges. Cote was tested by probation on Friday. A hearing was set for May 30. The court said she would be in the Murray County jail for 270 days and that Cote may ask if any Lyon County sentence could be concurrent.
MARSHALL — Lyon County probation withdrew an alleged probation violation against Michael Wayne Klein, 35, of Tracy in Lyon County District Court Friday.
MARSHALL — Dora Alicia Gonzalez, 23, of Marshall pleaded innocent in Lyon County District Court Friday to two counts of third degree driving while impaired and a charge of child endangerment. Gonzalez drove with a blood alcohol concentration of .15 and had two children under 16 in the car on May 2 in Marshall, the complaint alleges. Joel Solie was appointed Gonzalez’s lawyer. A Rule 8 hearing was set for May 12. Bail was set at $12,000 with no conditions. Bail of $6,000 with conditions of reappear in court, be of good behavior, submit to random testing and others was also set.
MARSHALL — Robert Allen Johnston, 22, of Hanley Falls appeared in Lyon County District Court Friday on two counts of third degree driving while impaired with the aggravating factor of a prior DWI in 2007 and charges of driving without a valid license, open bottle by driver, failure to provide insurance by owner and speed. Johnston drove with an alcohol concentration of .14, with an open container of alcohol, failed to provide insurance, and drove 62 mph in a 30 mph zone and without a valid license on March 21 in Cottonwood, the complaint alleges. Joel Solie was appointed Johnston’s lawyer. Johnston was released on the conditions he abstain from alcohol, does not enter bars or liquor stores and others. A hearing was set for May 23.
