ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton is making his return to the state Capitol.
Dayton planned a news conference Tuesday afternoon. It marks his first public appearance and first time at the Capitol since an early February hip surgery.
The 67-year-old Democrat has been working from the official residence a few miles from the Capitol during his recovery. He has been in a partial body cast while healing.
Dayton's surgery at the Mayo Clinic involved the reattachment of a major hip tendon to the bone around the hip joint. He was ordered to limit his travel for up to three months after the Feb. 10 procedure. He says it won't stop him from seeking a second term in the fall.
