SLEEPY EYE, Minn. (AP) — Four young men are dead after a car lost control on an icy highway near Sleepy Eye.

The State Patrol says a Pontiac Grand Prix was westbound on Highway 14 on Friday when it crossed into oncoming traffic and was hit by a Dodge pickup.

There were five people in the car. The driver, 19-year-old Kansas Adams of Sleepy Eye, was seriously injured.

The four passengers were killed. They were identified as 17-year-old Payton Adams of Sleepy Eye, 17-year-old Caleb Quesenberry of St. Peter, 18-year-old John Mangen of Fairfax and 20-year-old Tyler Hadley of Sleepy Eye.

The driver of the pickup and his two children suffered injuries that weren't life-threatening.

Just a week ago, three Minnesota college students also died when their vehicle lost control on an icy road.
