Brown's mom: No grudge against ex-Cowboy Brent

DALLAS (AP) — The mother of former Dallas Cowboys practice squad player Jerry Brown says she won't hold a grudge against his friend and teammate, Josh Brent, over her son's death.

Stacey Jackson said Thursday during the sentencing portion of Brent's trial over the drunken car crash that killed her son that, "We all make mistakes." She wasn't asked and she didn't say if she thinks Brent should go to prison.

Brent faces up to 20 years behind bars or as little as probation. The one-time defensive tackle was convicted Wednesday of intoxication manslaughter in the December 2012 crash that killed Brown, who was a passenger in Brent's car.

Authorities say Brent's blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.
