If random sporting events and hunters (about 6% of the total population) is what you are counting on to attract economic growth, then it is a doomed community. You cannot count on 3 nights a month to maintain a restaurant. You need daily foot traffic, and this town is quite saturated in food options (there is still at least 4 pizza options in town). If this town wants to be a destination, it requires those who are here to make the majority of their purchases locally (especially big ticket items); attracting better retailers than just Walmart; and it requires middle income job growth that creates disposable income to support those businesses...sports and hunting won't be enough because they are too much of one and done events.
