Sometimes, when you have a choice of "use it or give it back", it is best to just give it back. Marshall and Lyon County have never been known for their foreward thinking. Hindsight is 20/20 isn't it boys?

Shouldn't Mr. Olson have found out what type of business would be allowed in the airport area before even starting with the "bridge to nowhere"? The city was acting on his advice and seems to me he put the cart before the horse. Now, after the fact he's recommending updating the plan. Why wasn't this his recommendation before any money was spent in that area? Will the City Council hold him accountable for this situation?

$1.25 million for the bridge, PLUS another million or so for infrastructure on the other side of the bridge. Oh, that's right, it was "free money."

I do believe that money was some of Obama's stimulus money that has turned our economy around.

I have to agree with DuPage. This will be a bridge to nowhere for a long time. Another example of city officials putting the cart before the horse. Anybody remember how much that bridge cost to build. $1.25 million! I’m sure glad money grows on trees here in Marshall.

What’s with the bizarre obsessive compulsion that Marshall city officials have for locating businesses next to the airport? They behave as if there isn’t any other real estate available within a 50-mile radius. I’m amazed they aren’t insisting on building the “Sports Center” next to a runway. I suppose that in some fashion they have to justify the money they spent on the Bridge to Nowhere. What will the Marshall airport be in 50 years? Probably something VERY similar to what it is today!

From the descriptions of qualifying businesses, chances are it will be a long time if ever before that property is developed. Probably right when we refer to our "Bridge to nowhere."

I can see the Airport from my front steps.

Disappointed Mr. Olson? How about ashamed or embarrassed?
