They learned things alright...several years later than they should have. Business as usual. The bridge to nowhere is back.

Over the next 5 years we will see what business(s) end up out there. If nothing shows up for 5 years then you might be right, but if you are not prepared for new businesses they will not wait to move to meet your schedule.

Why wouldn't city staff (Mr. Olson)checked into and known about the FAA requirements before anything was started in the airport area? This would appear to me to be a basic, initial step in the early planning process for anything in the airport area. What is the reason (excuse) this was not done?

No one really cares because this type of incompetence will keep going on.

I would agree with others and find it somewhat coincidental that Mr. Olson and other city officials did not check this out prior to the first agreement. And, isn't Mr. Olson the same city official that is now telling us how bad and unsafe the Municipal building is?

Do the homework up front...

I feel bad for Action Manufacturing and City Taxpayers who are getting the short end of the stick from this lack of insight/due-diligence by City Officials with no real recourse.

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), this will only lead to raised skepticism on future projects.

I wouldn't feel too badly for Action. They're going to make out just fine.

56258, There has been a lack of insight, foresiight, and due diligence with Marshall city officials as long as I can remember(and that's a long time). In this particular case they were doing without thinking because they were scrambling to do the bidding of their Svengali, Mr. Lenny Pippin. Boy, just look where Lennys' vision got us.
