December 24, 2013

MARSHALL — While MNsure seems to be having about as good a month as Target is, former state legislator Marty Seifert of Marshall — one of six Republicans with an eye on taking over Go....

Score one common sense vote to Seifert.

I can't say that I agree with his approach, but I give him credit for actually offering some specifics on how he would handle the MNSure mess. Now if only his ideas could sound a little less like they were written in committee by the GOP...

This is what happens when you elect a President and a Governor neither one of which has ever had to earn a paycheck from a profit-making business. The result is two health-care systems, Obamacare and MNsure, that are pathetic jokes and a horrendous waste of taxpayer dollars.

We needed a change from the system that we had before, but we needed a better vision to implement this system so as problems arose we didn't ignore them until he became a mess.

Millions of people are losing their health insurance and where’s the liar Obama? On vacation in Hawaii at a multi-million dollar private residence. DISGRACEFUL.

Be careful what you wish for OIIOHH. Think how much better off we would be if he never comes back from vacation.

Bob, if you knew Marty you wouldn't be saying that. Common sense is not his strong point.

We need single payer, we need to get a realistic vision of health care that includes traditional medicine and alternative systems, self-care and prevention, less emphasis on drugs, bigger picture culturally (toxins in environment and crapfoods), communities designed for exercise and healthy living.

Marty, lots of things need deconstructing, like this poisoned ag landscape we support to kill birds and bees and create tankloads of hfcs designed to beef up our derrieres and support the dental industrial cavity complex.

We need to deconstruct the dangerous idea that growth is necessary, when we live in a finite world with finite resources that we will not be able to give to our bazillions of grandchildren that we breed wantonly without regard for nature.

WWJD? He would deconstruct those things, yep.

OIIOHH? "millions of people are losing their health insurance", is a lie, is a conservative talking point. Tell me how many of those "millions" just signed up for another plan? All of them? Pretty much. How many people will now have insurance come January 1st that didn't have it before? Now that # will be millions.I myself recently purchased new health insurance for my own family, my previous company raised its rates on us for 2014 like they did on many. So I went into the market, I saved $100 a month in premium and lowered my deductible by $3000 all the while getting a better policy. I expect to save over $5000 in healthcare expenses this year from last, thats the real deal a real world experience.

Several points really - how much are your co-pays and what are you doing for all your low wage employees that don't have health care? Did you properly report your projected earnings or did you low ball because you know no one will check and you will get a nice subsidy.

I guess five million getting their policies canceled is a liberal wet dream so enjoy your fantasy.

Al, go back and look at your argument and the statement from Really. On top of that, you seem to be throwing farmers under the bus with your statement about lowballing earnings and getting a nice subsidy.

Really, really? Please bring a brain. So if I am golfing, and I lose my $5.00 golf ball, only to find an old ball when looking for mine, I really didn't lose mine after all? Please. Millions are losing their health insurance. Period. If they go get a different policy, they still lost theirs, and obama still lied.

We don't get to decide what quote we are most associated with. Clinton's surely is "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" So far, obama's is "if you like your health care plan, you can keep it". It will be hard for him to top that one.

common = so really is a farmer now? He always portrayed himself as a business with lots of minimum wage employees.

Anyone lowballing their earnings to get a bigger subsidy is a crook.

I’m so glad for you, Really. And in the meanwhile, the director of MNsure gets fired because the system is so mismanaged. I’ll bet you won the lottery too, didn’t you Really? I’m amazed that this forum isn’t full of other wonderful testimonials like yours. HILARIOUS!

As of yesterday the number is 6,177,890 whose policies have been cancelled, after they were told they can keep them. I'm sure they all took comfort in knowing that eventually after they supposedly got through the website mess, they MAYBE have insurance again, although inferior.

Al, surely you jest. "Anyone who lowballs their earnings to get a bigger subsidy is a crook" is not aimed at farmers? There are an aweful lot of new pick-up trucks rolling around the country roads this time of year...
