Typical council; vote to spend more than what is taken in. Would they do this with their own household budget? And thanks Mr Bayerkahler for trying to keep some transparency with the sports and merit center projects. Sorry to see my hometown going this way, and makes me glad that I now live elsewhere...

Mr. Bayerkohler's exact intent was to spring these proposals on the council. He got his press, but failed to surprise anyone into voting his way.

This citizen appreciates Mr. Bayerkohler efforts for more transparency with city funds, especially the amateur sports center and Merit Center funds. We've been told these ventures will be self sustaining so classifying these as enterprise funds is the way it should be done to see if what we were told is actually happening. Also his point of money not going to the general fund from wastewater and surface water funds makes sense. Would be interested in knowing why the majority of the council could not support these actions, and "bad timing" looks like a convenient excuse.

Thank-you Mr. Bayerkohler. It's good to have at least one sane member of our city council.
