Thank you for publishing the article about our out-reach to survivors of sexual abuse by Fr. William Marks. There is no evidence that Catholic officials warned anyone when Marks was transferred from St. Dionyious parish to St. John's parish and to St. Clotilde parish. Marks has a history of "grooming children for abuse" and chaperoning altar boys on overnight trips to Arnold's Amusement Park at Lake Okoboji, Iowa. SNAP encourages victims (and their loving family members) of Marks's wrong doings to courageously step forward for help, understanding, and support. Marks was a child predator, those with information about his crimes and evil deeds are asked to bravely and confidentially step forward. Attorney Patrick Noaker (612) 839-1080 represents Marks's victims (noakerlaw****). More information is available at Pedophile: William Marks(mnsnap dot wordpress dot com). Thank you Bob, for sharing your painful story. Hopefully others who are suffering in silence and shame will also have the courage to speak up and expose the truth about being sexually abused. Hopefully they will know that they are not alone, and it was not their fault.

The fault belongs to the child predator, and the church officials who enable and empower these guys to harm more children by covering up their crimes. They are the ones who need to be held accountable, otherwise nothing changes. Children are still at risk today.

Sex abuse thrives in secrecy and secret systems that allow it to continue to this day, so silence is not an options anymore, it only hurts, and by speaking up there is a chance for healing, exposing the truth, and therefore protecting others. It is hard for folks to come forward who were sexually abused. Thank you Bob for giving those abused a place and other survivors to turn to.

Why did the church feel they were above the law and did not feel they had to report crimes to law enforcement?

Thank you for publishing this article.

If you have been the victim of abuse, come forward, speak up and get help. There are people who will believe you and support you.

The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), is the oldest, largest, and most active group for victims of abuse. Despite the word "Priests" in our name, our members include people abused in other religious groups, institutions like the Boy Scouts, and many other situations.

Honest question here, & since Mr Schwiderski & other SNAP people are clearly reading this, I'll ask: Is the purpose of this press release just to let potential past victims of Fr Marks know that they're not alone and that there is help available? Or is there also a new lawsuit against the Diocese of New Ulm perhaps in the works?

Unless more survivors come forward and people support them, there can't be a healing and more children will be sexually assaulted by wolves in sheep's clothing. This despite what Jesus said about not harming children or covering things up. This has been going on for centuries. They'll never face the devil as Jesus did and relinquish their power. The church is more important than children or anyone. Too many believe they need Holy Communion when it didn't help St. Peter denying Jesus, refusing to know his evil as Jesus taught. Somehow that was lost on the church, besides living by the sword.

I urge anyone who may have been harmed by Father William J. Marks to come forward and get help. What happened to you as a child is not your fault, it’s never is the fault of a child. You need not suffer in silence. The shame, guilt, and humiliation all belong to the sick perpetrator who harmed you. You are not alone others just like you have found healing, strength, and a voice speaking out and finding justice for the despicable crimes committed against them. There is Hope! We do recover and grow strong together, finding our voices speaking out about wrongdoing, and making our world safer for children today.
