To the editor: With the hope of warmer spring weather, it was good to see the “Share the Road Safely” article in this morning’s paper....

Under the law, bikes are supposed to go with the traffic flow. Walkers are supposed walk single file facing traffic so they can see on-coming cars.

However, I feel it would be safer if bikes and walkers traveled facing traffic. Bikers don't have any more protection that walkers do, so it would help them avoid be hit if they were facing traffic.

I was always told to walk in the lane opposite traffic so that you're seen by oncoming drivers. Riding a bike is a different story. Could be that people learned different rules.
