I get why you are upset, but the question is how is the vague comment on every story about the city helpful? I hope that you are attending council meetings as well to bring up the issues that you find important.

Private companies with flexible budgets do this all the time to reflect what really happens during the course of the year. Of course the total budget doesn't change, just the line items. Snow removal would be a good example of something that could have significant changes year to year.

I don't get the hotel marshall boards and bricks comment on every story about the city......I realize that it is because it is so run down, but how is that comment on every story relevant or helpful?????

In private industry, I've never heard of adjusting a budget to reduce the variances to actual performance. I'm glad some of our council members have questioned this. There's nothing wrong with having and noting variances to budget, but to adjust the budget to narrow the variances smells a bit...
