"Give signs to place at school entrances stating preparedness." YES! My favorite is the one saying, "This property is protected by Smith & Wesson! S&W might even provide the signs free for the advertising!

Wouldn't it be cheaper just to build a wall topped with razor wire around every school. Then we could simply place one armed guard at the entrance and they could search every individual entering the building. Especially students because who knows what type of contraband they be trying to sneak in to school. If you don't see razor wire surrounding your school be sure to ask why!

Perhaps we should place loaded guns around the building like fire extinguishers. Students could receive gun training in Home Ec. Food is not the key to survival - a gun is!

It seems common sense to harden our soft targets, like our schools. This can be done with some subtlety, rather than an extremist, over the top approach, as some imply is the only recourse. For instance, all who complete a course like highlighted in this article would be permitted to provide armed defense in currently gun free zones. Pass the background check, course completed, the area could be posted as a protected zone. h75, ever notice no rampage killings happen in Poor Borch's? Or Cabela's? No armed guards or concertina wire around either. Just about all rampage killings happen in gun free zones. I'm not obligated to ignore that.

hartman could just stand outside of a school with a cell phone to call 911 while the kids are being killed. Then he could pontificate later on these pages.

I don't see him rushing into the building at the sound of gunfire. He is just a talker not a doer.
