If Marshall is going to be a legit GreenStep community the parks department must stop their practice of excessively spraying for weeds - especially when they do so without posting any notification, or worse yet spraying while little kids are playing in the area.

Also, this team needs to get the golf course to stop spraying their so-called weeds (like plum trees) along the diversion channel. Using chemicals that kill living things right next to surface water does not seem "green" to me.

This seems to be part of our society and its growing lack of understanding of agriculture and food production.

I've recently read that a large part of our nation's youth have no idea where food comes or the whole supply chain concept of food production. This group must also extend to our Minnesota legislature too?
