MARSHALL — The Marshall City Council selected Ben Martig, city administrator of Blue Earth, as its next city administrator.

The city offered Martig the position after a series of interview during the day Tuesday but Martig said late Tuesday he had not yet accepted the offer.

“I don’t see foresee any issues,” Martig said of issues which may keep him from accepting. “Nothing has raised any red flags.”

“I’m evaluating the proposal,” Martig said of the city’s offer.

He would respond to the city within the next day or two, Martig said.

Tuesday was a long day and that “is part of it,” Martig said. “I need to sleep on it.”

Martig was selected by the council after he and three other finalists were interviewed Tuesday by the council, a community leader committee and the city’s division leaders.

The salary range for the position is from about $86,900 to about $115,000.
