Proposed cuts at MHS hit $560K
MARSHALL — Saying the Marshall School district wanted to “retain as many opportunities as we can for students,” Superintendent Klint Willert presented to the school board Monday a list of proposed cuts for the 2010-11 school year that total $562,660. “The next step is getting input from the community,” Willert said. “We need our community to be involved and engaged in this conversation. A community forum for the review of proposed adjustments to the 2011 budget will take place at 6 p.m. today in the PD Room of the District Administrative Office. After that, the board will consider that input and take action. “Emotions can rule the day,” Willert said, “but we need to be focused on what our data tell us.” Willert’s entire presentation can be viewed at www.eboard.swmn.org and click on the March 15 link.
