The sun will come out in Tracy
Every two years, the Tracy community comes together to put on a musical. Kids, their parents, school teachers, businesspeople, and even the elementary principal are getting involved with this year’s show, “Annie.” There’s always a certain camaraderie that builds during a community musical production, you’re together for several hours almost every night, you’re building a set, there are costumes to sew, lines and songs to learn and there is usually someone who brings treats to enjoy during those long practices. What was interesting with this year’s venture is that the directors, Ade Miller and Jesse James originally intended to do Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “State Fair.” But after auditions and attempting to cast the show several times, they figured a musical about a little red-haired orphan during the Depression era was a better fit for the cast of roughly 50.
