Rummage sale to benefit local Red Cross chapter

The American Red Cross – Prairie Winds Chapter, serving Lincoln, Lyon, Pipestone and Yellow Medicine counties, will have a fall “Rummage for the Red” sale from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, and again from noon-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at 301 2nd St. S., Marshall. During the event, a children’s Halloween costume contest (ages 0-13) will take place Saturday, Oct. 31. Prizes will be given to all participants. Registration is required by contacting the local Chapter. Donations of gently used household items, clothing, furniture, antiques, CDs, books, toys and many other items are needed and can be dropped off at the Chapter office located in the Boy Scout building at 301 2nd St. S., Marshall on weekdays between noon-5 p.m. (Donations of used appliances will not be accepted.) Donations are tax deductible. Proceeds will benefit the local American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and be used to assist families with needs following house fires during the winter season.
