I saw “Rocky Horror Picture Show” for the first time when I was in graduate school in Superior, Wis. A friend of mine had the movie and said I just had to watch it. I wasn’t too sure what to make of seeing Tim Curry prance around in fishnets and high heels or the fact that Meat Loaf played a character that eventually became the main course at a meal or trying to figure out what the premise of the show was all about.
The Legion had a “Rocky Horror” showing Halloween night. Costumes were encouraged. The only problem, I really didn’t have anything to put together, even as a Transylvanian. I also wasn’t really feeling that well that night. But there was a couple, the guy dressed as Dr. Frank-n-Furter and the girl was Columbia, right down to the short red hair. Props, such as cards, newspaper, water pistols and toast were available to those who wanted to use them. Some had their own lines to go along with what has become the cult classic midnight showings. And yes, a few even got up to do the “Time Warp” again.
