| | DWR — Drinking while relaxingOctober 23, 2009 - Per PetersonThe following is one of those stories where you can’t help but laugh, then tell yourself, “At least nobody was hurt.” We ran it in Friday's paper, but for those of you who missed it: According to a criminal complaint, 62-year-old Dennis LeRoy Anderson told police he left the Keyboard Lounge in Proctor on his customized La-Z-Boy after drinking eight or nine beers. He told them this because he was just about to be arrested for DWI after driving his motorized lounge chair into a parked vehicle last August. He pleaded guilty earlier this week. Prosecutors say Anderson’s blood alcohol content was 0.29, more than three times the legal limit, when he crashed. The chair is powered by a converted lawnmower and equipped with a stereo and cup holders. OK, first of all, yes, I’m glad he wasn’t injured. Second, c’mon, it’s pretty darn funny. Third, someone hook me up with of those chairs. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
