Goodbye uncle Paul

Last year around this time I wrote that my uncle Paul was diagnosed with ALS. This morning he lost his battle.

It's only been a year, but my dad’s youngest brother was able to see his daughter get married and escort her down the aisle, spend time with his son, daughter-in-law and their children and was surrounded by his brothers and sisters in September at Kate’s wedding. My mom called saying that he’s in a better place, that he’s no longer suffering. ALS hit him hard and fast. This is the second person I know who died from it; a classmate of mine died earlier this year at age 37.
