Harmless teenage fun or den of iniquity?

I talked with five women recently who had graduated from Marshall High School in 1964. One of the fun and interesting things they mentioned was that one member of their high school group had a strict dad. “He’s German,” she said. Sometimes other parents would give their OK or not for attendance at some event based on whether this girl could go. I think that is a good idea. The woman said her dad listened to his gut. Sometimes parents don’t know if something is harmless teenage fun or if it is a den of iniquity. When my 12-year-old twin girls get to high school, I’m going to find a strict parent and tell my girls, “If So-and-So can go, so can you.” Then, you’ve put the blame on someone else, plus you have a boundary of what the kids can do. It’s a win-win situation.
