Iron Man Rocks!

Saw “Iron Man” last weekend. It was fabulous. My pre-teen and teen-aged kids and my sister and I loved it. Robert Downey Jr. was great and deserves at least an Academy Award nomination. He is spell-binding in every second of his performance. Kudos to the director, ...hold on while I check the Internet for his name....oh yeah, Jon Favreau. Not a false moment. Well, a couple of teensy-weensie things. One movie mistake-- in a newspaper clipping or something they spell “rein” as “reign.” Yeah, I’m a nerd. Also, Tony Stark asks for an “American cheeseburger” and he is ostentatiously handed a Burger King bag. The whole movie almost stops for a Burger King commercial. For a cool and hip movie, that is so blatantly a sponsored tie-in and it is definitely uncool. But except for those two tiny exceptions the movie ranks up in my Top 10 popcorn movies along with “10,000 B.C.,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Rocky” and “Jaws.”
