A little bit o' trivia

January 12, 2009 - Cindy Votruba
OK, I won’t complain about the fact that we’re experiencing a blizzard yet again or that “House” is moving to Mondays. I have to admit that sometimes I have a heckuva time finding a subject to blog about. As I’ve said before, I’m not big on politics. I try not to discuss religion, and I’m not big into technology.

OK, how about Trivial Pursuit? I played the ‘90s edition with Ross on Saturday. I figured that since I lived through the decade, I should know quite a few of the answers, right? Wrong. Either my brain wasn’t working or I mentally blocked out those 10 years. The categories included trends, viewing (movies and TV), “Oops” (which was massive mistakes made in the ‘90), wired (computers and the like) and news. The game pieces were things like a cup of some kind of coffee drink (latte, cappucino, don’t really know as I don’t drink coffee), a grunge rocker and a screen. Fun game. Just need to brush up on my ‘90s trivia.

During the years, my family has bought different editions of Trivial Pursuit. We started with the original edition. We have the Baby Boomers, Genus 5 and I came across the 1960s edition which I remember beating mom in the first game we played (and she lived during that decade!). I also got the 20th anniversary edition for Christmas one year. Now Trivial Pursuit has celebrated its 25th year. Recently, I’ve also played the Genus 6 edition of the game. So many incarnations of this game. There’s even editions on “Star Wars” and “Lord of the Rings.” Even a game show or two was created. Trivial Pursuit digital edition was released last year. Definitely something i want to try out.
