Dance, dance, dance!
December 30, 2008 - Cindy Votruba
So what’s everyone doing for New Year’s Eve? This is probably one of the first times (I think there was only one other) that I’m actually going to be going somewhere and doing something. A group of folks from the Marshall Area Stage Company are heading to the Marshall Golf Club for the Route 68 Big Band/All My Favorites dance party fund-raiser. Proceeds from the event will go toward Ethan and Natalie Shuckhart, premature twins of Chris and Sue Shuckhart.
Ethan and Natalie were born a little too early. I believe they were due in late May or early June, I forget which. But they were born in mid-March. Both babies weighed under three pounds and spent a long time at the NICU in Sioux Falls. They also had a few medical problems. After surgery and beginning to eat on their own, the twins finally came home in the summer, Natalie on June 19, Ethan on July 15. Now they are both thriving and doing well.
If you’re still looking for a place to go tomorrow night, hit the Marshall Golf Club. Both bands put on a good show, and I’m sure it will be a blast. Heck, you may see me attempt to dance! That’s worth the price of admission itself. Tickets are $15 per person and available at Hy-Vee, County Fair, MAFAC, Music Street, Gislason’s and Finnegan’s in Minneota and at the door.
