Sixth grade rock-n-rollers

Last night (May 1) the Marshall Middle School sixth grade orchestra members performed a fine concert. It was followed by the sixth grade performing in their own rock bands. They divided themselves up into groups, and volunteered to be lead singer, drummer, guitarist, etc. It took a lot of guts to get up there on the stage and perform. Some were more entertaining than others, because they belted the songs out more instead of whispering wanly. They sang songs from groups ranging from the Supremes to Aerosmith, ending with Matt Christianson’s rousing rendition of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Dani California.” Christianson is a good guitarist and drummer and will be someone to watch in the years to come. The concert can be viewed in Marshall at 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on Studio One.
