Honking and Flashing

July 2, 2014 - Karin Elton
Last Sunday I was babysitting my 2-year-old granddaughter. It was nearing bedtime. I put her on my bed and left the room to do something else. A few seconds later I heard the most godawful racket from outside. I poked my head out the front door. My car was honking and flashing.

I immediately knew what was happening. I ran into the bedroom. Sure enough the 2-year-old had reached into my purse, got the keys and pressed the panic button. I got the keys, but did not know how to get it out of “panic” mode. I started to panic. I was worried about the neighbors. I pressed all the buttons on the key thingy. I started the car and was going to drive it out of town and out of the range of any houses, but the racket stopped after a few yards. I was so relieved.
