In one part of the play the narrator said that a woman named Veronica (or in the Greek, Bernice) wiped Jesus’ brow with a cloth when he was carrying the cross. I had never heard of Veronica. A Google search says that after she wiped his brow, his face appeared on the cloth. She was later named as a saint. This is big. I asked a Catholic guy in the newsroom if he had heard of her and he hadn’t. I later asked a Catholic reporter if she had heard of Veronica and she did know her story. Still, I think Veronica needed a better PR person. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web Blog Photos![]() |
