| | Pain et fromageFebruary 28, 2012 - Karin EltonI read on huffingtonpost.com that McDonald's France is debuting its newest sandwich in April: the McBaguette. “The sandwich will feature a burger with French-made Emmental cheese and mustard on a baguette rather than a bun. The McBaguette will be available for six weeks throughout France's 1,228 McDonald's outposts.” A few commenters made some wry remarks: “Does it come with attitude?” and “I’ll stick to the Royale with cheese” and “They should’ve made a McEscargot Burger instead.” I attended a presentation by Marshall High School foreign exchange students Friday and one kid was from France. He lamented the lack of good bread here in the States. He missed the baguettes from France. He’s right. The bread here is gross. Especially white bread. I can thankfully say that I have never eaten Wonder bread. My mom didn’t buy it. I try to eat whole grain bread, but my family doesn’t like it, so I have to compromise with honey wheat-type bread. The French kid said the cheese here is awful as well. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
