| | Keeping track of signing day (Updated)January 30, 2012 - Joe BrownFootball signing day is fast approaching, as both area high school athletes and Southwest Minnesota State are looking towards the future. On Wednesday, I will be out at Marshall High School in the morning and at Shay's Restaurant in the afternoon as SMSU announces its signing class for 2012. Here are a couple tidbits to pass along: — Marshall head coach Terry Bahlmann said that Tigers quarterback Alex Fenske is heading to St. Thomas to play at one of the top Division III school in the country. Meanwhile, kicker Cameron Thompson is now debating over Augsburg or Northern State. — I chatted with Minneota running back/linebacker Adam Josephson on Saturday after the SMSU/St. Cloud State wrestling match, and the Vikings standout is still weighing his options. Josephson said his hope was to wrestle AND play football in college. — For the Mustangs, along with Irondale's Alec Waite, one other name has poked through the woodwork in Minnesota, as Cretin-Derham Hall linebacker Tyler Flud and Brooklyn Center wide receiver Nick Hansen verballed to SMSU.
