I did it for my children's sake

November 4, 2011 - Karin Elton
My less than clean, less than neat ways have been vindicated! I’ve written columns before on how housekeeping is a low priority for me. I like a clean house but can’t seem to find the energy or gumption to actually do it beyond once a week on Saturday mornings after my second cup of coffee. And darned if the house doesn’t immediately assert itself into its presumably desired state of filth.

I saw on a news program yesterday that there is a high rate of children with food allergies. Among the possible reasons — too clean of a house. The immune system doesn’t get a chance to build itself up and starts attacking random “enemies.”

Not one of my four children has a food allergy. You’re welcome, kids.
