Big pass plays to Tyler Erickson and Gannon Moore put SMSU in the driver's seat of this game, paving the way for a three-yard touchdown toss from Tyler Peschong to Cody Condon to give the Mustangs the 28-24 lead with over four minutes left.

On a play-action pass, Carlson picked up 26 yards, and later in the drive, a swing pass to Moore resulted in 45 yards, putting SMSU in the red zone.
